少し前になってしまいましたが、中学校３年のMさん音楽がどんどん好きになって来て、ABRSMピアノの実技試験は５級合格し、更に上級に進む為と、将来の進学の内申書にも有利な事から、音楽理論の試験を受験しました。日本で音楽教育を受けた音大出身者にとっては音楽理論は試験の為のお勉強の様な感じで、あまりPositive な思い出が無いのですが、ABRSMの勉強は分かり易くやすく楽しく、音楽の総合理解に大変役立ちます。そして英語の勉強にもなるのです。ピアノは練習しないとすぐに弾けなくなりますが、理論に裏付けられた音楽への理解は一生残るもので、アルゴリズムの一例として思考に大変役立ちます。全ての生徒さんに勧めます。本当に嬉しい！おめでとう！まだアマゾンでも日本でも購入できない新しい教材をLondonから友人が調達してきてくれたので、Mさん既に次の目標に向かってがんばっています。My student, Ms. M has sucessfully passed ABRMS Grade5 Music theory exam. In my time in Japan, Music theory was something for only exam. not that much applicable to myown piano study but ABRMS's approach is much more practical and very useful for understanding music in general. If we stop practicing, dexiterity of fingers will be lost quickly but understanding of structures of music and basic grasp of what music are made of, will stay forever in one's brain. I guess. I highly recommend every students of mine to take the exam eventually. My dear friend got the new ABRMS materials from London too and M is already working on next challenges.
